Education is number one on the list of priorities for many students at St. Joseph's Morrow Park. It is said that there are three ways in which students can overcome college related stress or university tuition: finding a part-time job, searching for possible scholarships, and, yes, saving one’s birthday money.
Having a part-time job is beneficial as it allows for the development of important life skills and is a great way to save money. Applying for a part-time job is not necessarily hard; however, it requires responsibility and self-discipline from a student’s point of view.
Looking for scholarships is another great idea for a meritorious student. Students who are capable of maintaining a good overall average of eighty and above, have the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship as an incentive for their hard work.
Saving one’s birthday money is also a good strategy, which many students tend to use, as it fosters independence. Knowing how to save and spend money is an essential life skill, which the majority of students are required to learn in order to prevent any future debts.
Education should be the main subject of concern for any student who wishes to have a bright future. If students can make money by having a part-time job, obtaining a scholarship, or saving some birthday cash, then they should invest it in their education. After all, didn’t Benjamin Franklin say that, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest”?
