Places to Eat on a Student-Friendly Budget

Finding a place to eat with a student friendly budget is a struggle. With the prices for KFC's "Toonie Tuesdays" rising and changing the title to "Tuesday Specials”, it's hard to find the money to eat out. Of course, one could always opt for buying weekly groceries but with student pay and minimum wage, it takes your whole paycheque to pay for a couple of veggies and some instant ramen with part time hours only. With all the stresses of school and work, eating out with a couple of friends is something that you should not be stressing about because $10 is not enough for a small meal. Budget-friendly food places can be found all around Toronto.

Jumbo Empanadas at 245 Augusta Avenue in Kensington Market offers just what it sounds like; tasty, jumbo empanadas at a fairly cheap price – the cheapest empanada being around only $2. If you've got a hankering for Greek food, at 445 Danforth Avenue in Greektown Messini Authentic Gyros serves authentic Greek cuisine at affordable prices; it's the best $5 you'll ever spend. If those locations are a little too far for you there's the infamous Burrito Boyz with locations spread across downtown with quality burritos ranging from prices of $5-10. And if all else fails and you figure the journey is too long, there's always the nearby McDonalds down by Centerpoint.
