Camp Robinhood From a Grade Nine Perspective

It seems as if it was only yesterday that I visited Camp Robin Hood with my grade nine class, and I definitely wish I could visit again.Camp Robin Hood is a day camp with the purpose of bringing students in for the day to practice team work. There are games and challenges to play with your team, and of course, you get to have fun at the same time. The day I visited was the most fun I've had with St. Joseph's Morrow Park so far, but I have to say, my favourite part of my experience at Camp Robin Hood was the "Island Challenge". My group of twelve people had to use the rope hung from the trees around us to swing onto the "island" (platform) on the other side. Sounds easy, right? The twist was that we'd only win if all of us at once finished landing on the platform, which was only about the size of a desk! In the end, we managed to fit eleven out of twelve people on that little platform. I really enjoyed the experience because the challenged required us to be comfortable with one another, and it also was a really creative game to me. Seeing everyone cheer one another on, and encouraging the other team members to keep trying was really nice, and fun to watch, too! Although my team never won any awards at the end of the day, I still had an incredible experience with my friends at Camp Robin Hood. I hope to go again as a leader next year.
